1940s Decade Reunion – 21st April 2012
On Saturday 21st April 2012, Withington is hosting a a special reunion for all those who left School in the 1940s, to which all leavers from that decade are warmly invited.
During the decade, many pupils were evacuated to Uttoxeter and the 'Lost Boys' joined the School, both as a result of World War Two, and the reunion will offer Alumnae the chance to share their memories of studying at Withington in the midst of such events as well as to see the many changes which have taken place at School since then.
The programme for the day will be as follows:
|10.30am||Morning Coffee in the Marjorie Hulme Arts Centre, with the opportunity to look at 1940s memorabilia from the School Archives|
|11.00am||Welcome from the Headmistress, Mrs Sue Marks|
|11.15 – 12.30pm||A screening of the School Film, and an opportunity for Class Leavers to catch up with friends and to share their memories of their time at School|
|12.30pm||Buffet Luncheon, served in the School Dining Room|
|2.15pm||Tours of School|
|3.15 – 4.00pm||Afternoon Coffee|
