Alumna Ann Lipson visits School

On Monday 26th September, 1956 leaver Ann Lipson spent the day at Withington talking to girls about her work for IcFEM in Kimilili, Kenya.

Pupils from Withington have supported the work of IcFEM and the Lugulu High School in Kimilili for many years, and the girls very much enjoyed hearing from Ann, who had attended the Withington Onwards AGM at School two days before, about how the monies raised by the School community had made a positive impact on the Kimilili community.

Ann spoke to the Senior School about her work in morning Assembly, before speaking to various classes in more detail about life in rural Kenya.  Following her visit, Withington's Eco Warriors plan to raise money in their 'Girls Go Green Week' for a much-needed project in Kimilili – guttering to collect rainwater  – which Ann spoke about during her visit.
