Joint Spanish and Food Tech Trip to Barcelona

Twenty-one Lower and Upper Fifth pupils took part in a joint Spanish and FTT trip to Barcelona, Spain to immerse themselves in the Spanish language and culture and also enjoy a Spanish culinary experience!

Barcelona Easter 2011

The group stayed in Tossa del Mar in the Costa Brava north of Barcelona where they could be free to explore, enjoy the seaside and beautiful views.

During the trip they explored Barcelona where they visited the astounding Sagrada Familia, designed by Antonio Gaudi, shopped in the Boquería market which was a feast of colours and smells, walked around Park Guell with Gaudi’s beautiful mosaics, the Gothic Quarter and the Ramblas where they mingled with both Spanish people and tourists alike.

The visit also included a trip to the Medieval city of Girona where the architecture has been beautifully preserved and they also visited a local market full of beautiful and fresh local fruit and vegetables.

The trip was not complete without the culinary Spanish tapas experience which the girls were very excited about, followed by a highly entertaining paella cookery lesson where the pupils enjoyed the beautiful paella which certainly didn’t disappoint!
