Harvest Festival 2010
The Junior Harvest Festival took place on Friday 1st October. Transition acted out a Harvest poem using peas to represent peace; squash to symbolise squashing unkindness; lettuce for ‘letting us be kind’; turnip for ‘turn up and lend a hand’ and finally, thyme for ‘time with family and friends’. Form I performed a short play which emphasised the joy of sharing.
Thanks to parents and girls who brought in a fantastic array of harvest gifts and to Mrs Cartledge who provided a magnificent harvest loaf in the shape of a wheatsheaf complete with harvest mouse. The donations were collected by members of the Salvation Army and used to support them in their work.
