The party flew from Manchester to Dalaman and began their adventure the following day with a visit to the ancient city of Caunos before boarding a gulet boat to view the rock-cut royal tombs on the Lycian coast.

The itinerary also included visits to the Mausoleum and the Castle of the Knights of St John's Underwater Archaeology Museum at Bodrum, the Temple of Apollo at Didyma, the spectacular ruins at Ephesus and the nearby remains of the Temple of Artemis.
