Form 1 RE Trip
On Monday 16th November, Form I visited Manchester Cathedral and Manchester Buddhist Centre. We were accompanied by Mr Sharples, Head of Religious Studies in the Senior School, who had also popped into our lessons the week before to tell us about what we might expect to see at the Cathedral.
The visit was linked to our work on Christianity and Buddhism and we were able to compare and contrast the two neighbouring yet very different places of worship.
At the Cathedral, we learned about symbols as well as investigating stained glass windows and finding out about the key features inside the building. At the Buddhist centre, we all took part in a meditative stilling exercise. All the children found the visit extremely interesting and we all felt very relaxed after our time at the Buddhist Centre!
