Withington's Senior squad triumphed in he Northern Schools Lacrosse Tournament on October 21st – rattling in an astonishing 40 goals in the process.

Withington dominated the competition – comprising seven back-to-back matches – at Queen Margaret's School's Escrick Park in York. The results show just how commanding the Withington squad was on the day, opening with a 7-1 victory over Sedbergh, then beating Queen Margaret's B 6-0, Queen's B 4-0, Bolton 4-1, Casterton 8-1 and finally Queen's 7-0.

The closest contest came in the penultimate match against hosts and trophy holders Queen Margaret's who twice drew level before Withington ran out winners by the odd goal in five.

PE teacher Miss Jess Richards, who accompanied the squad, said: "The girls played extremely well, especially against Queen Margaret's. And as much as the results in the other games look one-sided, the victories still required hard work."
