Lacrosse National Championships

Withington’s U19 Lacrosse team reached the semi-finals of the National Schools’ Championship in Middlesex, which saw more than 50 teams compete over two days.

After playing six matches on day one, winning three, losing two and drawing one, the squad qualified for ‘Division 1’ – never before achieved by a Withington team.

On day two, Withington’s performance – winning four matches, drawing one and narrowly losing the sixth – put them in the semi-finals where they lost to Queen Anne’s, Caversham by the odd score in seven in an extremely close, hard-fought game in which they demonstrated excellent teamwork, skill and set play, marshalled by captain Alana Livesey.
