Mock Trial

On Saturday November 29th, a group of Lower Sixth girls represented the school at the Sir Rhys Davies Mock Trial Competition at Minshull St Crown Court in Manchester. Playing the parts of advocates, witnesses, court staff and court reporters, the girls had to defend and prosecute two cases, one a case of unlawful wounding and the other a case of blackmail.

We won the first round against Bury Boys’ Grammar but narrowly lost the next against Bury Girls’ Grammar and so could not win our league to go through to the final. The girls were highly commended by the judges for their court report and for the standard of acting by the witnesses.
