Farewell to Mrs Hutt & Miss Neary

In our leavers' assembly we not only said goodbye to the members of Upper II, but also to Mrs Margaret Hutt and Miss Niamh Neary.

Mrs Hutt retired after 16 years at Withington during which time she has combined roles of teaching Form 1, latterly becoming Deputy Head of the Junior School, and teaching Sixth Form Mathematics.

She said: "I valued the chance to do other things too as a badminton and gymnastics coach and to become involved in drama and music as Arts Centre co-ordinator. Now I want to become a more dedicated grandmother and enjoy good holidays with my partner. I want to be somewhere exotic when the new term starts in September."

Miss Neary left after two years as Transition class teacher. Miss Neary married in July and intends to find a new challenge after she returns from honeymoon.

Miss Neary said: "Although I have spent only a brief time at Withington, I know my experiences will stay with me; and I will have fond memories of Strawberry Serenades, Christmas productions and even the sponsored walk."
