Alps and Disneyland Paris

In July 2007, 45 Year 8 girls and five members of staff set off on a week long trip. We stayed in the village of Chapelle d'Abondance in the French Alps, close to the Swiss border.

Excursions included visits to the Evian water bottling factory and an afternoon at the Aqua parc Le Bouveret on the banks of Lake Geneva. We spent a day in Chamonix and took the train and cable car to the impressive Mer de Glace.

We also discovered some of the local specialities and discovered how Gruyère cheese is made. A visit to the Alps would not be complete without sampling some of the local chocolate, which is what we did during our tour of the Nestlé Cailler factory.

We then returned to Paris and spent a fun-filled day enjoying the sunshine, blue skies and all that Disneyland Paris has to offer. Our first trip was a great success and we are already looking forward to Alps & Disneyland Paris 2008.
