Geography trip to Castleton

Third Formers spent a fascinating day in and around the Peak District village of Castleton on Geography field trip focusing on the impact of limestone on the landscape and the economy of the area.

The expedition included entering Treak Cliff and Peak Caverns and marvelling at the stalactites and stalagmites formed from the “living” rock, field sketching of the local landscape and undertaking environmental assessments.
